Cacti - Sprouting!!!

Just look at this little guy!

Two more "little" guys!

I used a seed mix of Saguaro, Hedgehog, Fishook Barrel, Dollar Prickly Pear, Desert Prickly Pear, Christmas Cholla, Cane Cholla, Santa Rita Prickly Pear and Carno'n.

They are still so little, you can hardly see them in their bowl:

Growing Cacti from seed!

Growing Cacti from seed!

I've never been much into succulents, much less cacti. Today, at Home Depot, I came across this seed packet for mixed varieties and I figured it couldn't hurt to see what would happen, so I bought it.

I have this shallow plant-bowl that isn't suitable for very much but it seemed perfect to grow cacti. I covered it with clear plastic wrap (packet suggests covering the planted seeds with glass). It's now in the guestroom infront of the window.

Germination is 7 - 56 days..............
